I highly doubt a casino bartender would drug someone so I assume a non employee did it, but even so, with all the surveillance it just seems like something that just wouldn't happen. I'm not at all excited to share this, but would like to know if any of you have heard of something similar happening before. I checked my wallet the next day and it still had money in it and all my credit cards so it does not seem that I got robbed unless I got chips taken from me, so the motive is unclear.
The balance of probabilities is that this was a non-gambling related issue.
There are unfortunately a disturbingly high number of such incidents of this in the general population. It is usually but not exclusively directed at young women, sex crime is generally the motive. Of all the evil things I have heard casinos do this isn't one of them and it is difficult to fathom a clear motive for them to do that.
I would not assume the bartender is innocent. That position can attract sociopaths since it gives them access to alpha male status and a pool of vulnerable people. That type of individual would enjoy committing crimes in plain sight. Whoever is responsible I would stay away from that general area as you say.
In future you will need a trusted person who will come and get you in an emergency: whether this is a criminal or medical issue.
