If you are able to ST than you should be able to keep a simple plus/minus side count to add to the HL for example.
The readers of this post have complained for the past two years that keeping plus/minus side counts is too difficult to do and a lot of work and they get confused.
I explained a little earlier that using chips there is almost no extra work in keeping plus/minus side counts.
Here is a thread I posted on adding 5m9c to the HL to improve mainly betting but also improves a few playing strategy changes. Just read my inital post of this thread as the readers got off track. My initial post describes HL w 5m9c.

HL w 5m9c still underperforms HO2 w ASC and I estimate that it would be on par with Wong's Halves.
The next level after adding 5m9c to the HL is to add AA78mTc the HL so you would have HL with 5m9c and AA78mTc which my CC shows handily beats HO2 w ASC.
So I would like to get feedback from someone like you who is always open to learning new blackjack skills.
I have absolutely no problem in keeping the side counts with chips. I have no super memory or extraordinary skills. But as I said the readers of this forum all think keeping plus/minus side counts are extremely difficult. I think they are either doing something wrong or are afraid to try anything new because with chips the 5m9c is very easy to do. Actually keeping only one extremely simple side count as the 5m9c you should be able to do this even without using chips, but use chips to make it very easy to use.
So that is why I would like your opinion.
Please try a few shoes keeping the 5m9c with the HL and let me know if you can do it easily and then report back so everyone knows.
If you can ST, which I can not, then you should definitely be able to keep a 5m9c side count with the HL.
