You know, BJ makes a better hobby than career. The same skills which can produce success at BJ can be used far more effectively in other lines of effort. Seeing opportunities and acting on them, money management, patience, discipline, these are all qualities that can make ALOT more money in the business world or other areas than in BJ. I have played BJ for over 40 years, am over 60 and while I have done great in BJ, it pales versus success in business. I saw the same situation when I was into Poker for many years, I watched young people giving up their life ambitions to play cards. Okay, if that is what you want to do, I guess go ahead and do it...but....you might just be selling yourself short, even if you make what you might consider alot of money to you now, the amount you can make is nothing compared to what you probably could have in something else. End of sermon and I apologize in advance for it.
CEO1 - +1000. Well put, don't get me wrong there are many successful APers who make a nice, in some cases a very nice living. That said it pales in comparison to what many opportunities in the business world might offer. There are a number of reasons for this, for one thing doesn't scale well - for the most part you only make money when you are actively working and plying your trade. Get up to hit the mens room and your earnings stop , count tanks and you get up to find a new game and while you are looking around for a new shoe to crack - your earnings stop, ploppy sits down and buys for 2K in 20s - your earnings stop - you get the idea. Anyhow lots more I could say but will end it here to be brief and I think that folks who understand this don't need any input, and folks who don't understand this probably aren't interested I hearing more. Agree with the hobby comment - sure beats golf. Good luck in whatever you pursue.
