double deck
6 or 8 deck
That's not true. You were special. Now, MWP has replaced you on my shitlist and he's been playing red chips for 35 years now, but he acts like he's new
As with everything, there are exceptions to the rule. Some places will tolerate some DD play. Other places (eg., MGM, Bellagio) will not.

Aint nothing wrong playing red chips for 35 years. He don’t need big money, back offs and other hassles and knows his limitations, same as me. I know that no matter my BR, I don’t like back offs. I play DD green chips because tables at $25 min8mum are less crowded and I can get some head’s up too and I like keeping my max bet at under $200. 6 decks at $25 minimum are tough when you don’t like losing $2k in a session, so I play red chips there.
I just think you hate MWP because you envy him having all that snow to himself!
DD but pretty sure if I played as many hours as most posters my answer would change.
I think in some places DD is definitely a counter trap- places that have 1 or 2 dd games and a ton of shoe games.
But some places have mostly or all DD games, in that case their entire game of blackjack is not a counter trap.
This poll is flawed because it assumes everyone has equal access to either DD games or 6 deck games. In many parts of the country DD games are not available.
I will play the best game available at the time, but my preference is DD games. I might play 6 deck if DD is crowded and at some casinos DD is not offered. But to set the record straight for 21forme, I have not been playing blackjack for 35 years, only 34 years. However, I suppose you could say 35 years if you count 2020, but I only managed to get one trip in this year before the virus shutdown. Anyway, this is how I played over the years. When I first started my only option was 4 deck. There was no 2 deck or six deck and this was probably the case for about the first ten years. Then 2 deck started and 4 deck was replaced with 6 deck.
By the way, I'm pretty proud of my red chip play. I just found out my best red chip year was over two times better than Eliot's best red chip year, and many years better than Eliot's best year. I can't disclose where I read this because there is a cry baby here that likes to run to Norm and make a fuss so I will leave it at that.
