    AC Musings

So your intrepid reporter has returned from his AC casino tour and submits observations herein.

I was exploring the Borgata (lovely casino) and bought in at a $10 min table. The dealer push my $20 initial bet back and informed me I must have a players card or I can only flat bet at the table minimum, and only one spot. He said it's a new rule, but only for blackjack (duh). I declined to participate and departed immediately.

Whilst at the Ocean (Only BJ with Surrender in AC, says the billboard), I was playing a $10 table when a strange looking fellow bought in at second base. He proceeded to sit out most of the 8 deck shoe, staring straight ahead like a zombie. I play REKO so my bet increases usually near the end of the shoe. But wait, here comes zombie man, suddenly awake and spreading to 2 spots with a big $10 bet. He proceeded to follow this pattern for the next 3 shoes, not only drawing attention to my bet increases, but eating up my good cards. I glared hatred at him but he was unmoved, just continued to push out his min bet. The dealer made no comment, but how long will the casino tolerate that guy's behavior? Give me some act if your backcounting, smoke a cig, play with your phone, but just sit there? What a schmohawk.

A disturbing number of homeless in AC, around and sometimes in the casino. Asking players for bus fare at the tables, asking for money for food in the food court, camped out in blankets near entrances on the boardwalk. Thankfully there is a heavy level of security staff in most casinos.

You are overreacted. That man spreading $10 to $30 and playing all at $10 table will be fine.
