Sounds like a very good tip! I guess people anyway take their chips from one table to the other, wandering around, if the casino is large enough, and not play at just one table. So why should anyone color up and color down several times? It makes sense to only color up when definitely going to finish a session and leaving the casino.
Generally, if they see you ratholing, they tend to attribute all missing chips to you, your win record inflates (if they are logging you into).
Yes, the pit may be clueless but generally, they have some algorithms running and kicks out those who are winning too many sessions or too much money. The word comes down from above, maybe the pit folks are “written Up”.
in any case, one day you walk into the same casino, the clueless pit guys who smiled and greeted you ignores or does not meet your eyes, the dealers no longer are jovial with you, sometimes even the hostess is not as friendly as before. At the beginning of the shift, the pit guy let’s dealers know that there is this guy ratholing Chips, is likely a counter and they all become unfriendly, the pen drops a bit, drops more if you continue to win, one day you see a security guy come over, the pit guy waiting for a suit to come down, then a tap on your shoulder. If you are lucky, they may simply flat bet you, maybe they will simply tell you that you can no longer play BJ but may play anything else but if they are really pissed, you will be escorted out.
No, it does not because of the fact that the player depending on their level of play may have for example $2500 in blacks and $2000 in green or $300 in red, in front of him. The dealers need those chips back otherwise all of the chip racks in the pit will all be out of wack in color denominations, at some point requiring numerous fills and take back of chips. Besides, how are you going to carry them?

I have small bags (pouches) for this, plus pockets in my jacket, where dozens if chips fit into. After all, if 10 or 20 chips can be held with one hand, they should fit into small pockets, too. And I thought most people lose, so the dealer will only run out of chips if there is an AP or AP team devastating the table? And if players go with chips and come with chips, this should equalize each other?

I tend to not rat hole. Or just rat hole openly. And just let the casino color up as they want, and come back later, and cash out a little at a time in small amounts. At these times (When cashing out) if you have a partner or spouse it really helps. JMHO.

Have you checked your won/loss record? Sometimes they assign missing chips to you if they eve4 spotted you ratholing. Sometimes, after you leave the table heading to the cashier, they call the cashier desk to get a report of how many chips you turned in.
Most people lose their local casinos in 1-4 years depending on how aggressive you play and how often you play. People think they got the casino totally fooled. They walk in to their local casino(s) are welcomed by the pit, dealers smile at them, the hostess knows your drink etc., and all seems great.
But there are algorithms in place, kicks out your name as someone who has won too much or has had far more winning sessions than a ploppy should and they notify the pit.
then comes a day when you walk in, the pit does not greet you as enthusiastically as usual, the dealer avoids meeting your eyes, the hostess does not run up to serve you and you are either going to get backed off or, if you play in a state where card counters are not banned, countermeasures start. The penetration goes to cutting off half or more of the shoe, gets worse.
It comes as a huge shock! Newbies constantly find success the first year or two, make money, decide they can go full time because they are making more than at their job or quit college. When, as inevitable, you lose your local casinos, you find the hard way that traveling to play BJ is a different animal. When you have to leave your GF, your buddies, spend money on gas or airline flights, motels, greasy food and have increased expenses......it becomes a grind for most.
