Zen - When to surrender 88 v A

So given that the expectation of splitting and surrendering are pretty close, is there a positive hi lo index for splitting, rather than surrendering 88 v A and if so what is it?

88 v A (6D H17) is a reverse index. I read a post by Cacarulo where he mentions to start splitting at hi lo TC2 or more and surrender below that.

Yes, we recently had a thread on reverse index plays, but I thought it was 14 versus Ace or 17 versus Ace.
