Anyway, the last time I was there was way back in Nov 2012. I actually made two trips there that Nov. One trip was early in the month and the second later in the month. I think it was on that second trip I ran into a terrible snowstorm. I remember heading out on a beautiful day. The temps were way above average. I knew there might be a storm, but didn't think much of it since the road between Marquette and Christmas is close to the Big Lake and temps are always warmer there early in the winter season. Then the storm hit. Terrible winds. I stayed in the motel most of the second day waiting for the casino to open. It was so bad I decided to walk the mile to the casino and leave my car at the motel as it was cased in ice and snow.

There is a hotel right next to the casino called White Pine Lodge. I don't remember why I didn't stay there. They might have been closed or probably to expensive. I stayed at a place called the Christmas motel. A mom and pop place with really nice folks running it. It was very old, and the rooms were small, but only cost $50 a night. Here is a picture. Great reviews on Google.

Anyway, at one time all the Kewadin casinos offered great games. They now have all went to hell with csm machines.
I would of never guessed in a million years that little town up there had a Casino!

Those pictures of the telephone poles you posted below reminds me exactly like the ones I saw years ago. Hard to believe that much snow could even fall in one place. I bet you triple check that grocery list before shopping come winter time.
