    Many credit cards give it for free too. I got it gratis a few years ago but after skipping so many long lines, I should have paid for it long ago.

    I already got it before getting a credit card that offered it.

    Also if you have a CAC you can use that number to get free precheck (If contractor, you must opt-in first).

    I don't fly that often, but when I do I usually have about $6,000 to $9,000 on me. Never had any problems, but once time in Wendover I had a bank envelope in my shirt pocket full of cash (maybe $3,000 ) and forgot about removing it. The TSA agent asked about it and then wanted to see it. I opened the envelope and showed it to him, but didn't give it to him. I just flipped my thumb over the money and he was satisfied.
