MWP, I really think you should consider renting a car. I have been to the casinos in Colorado, and they are okay. The games are okay. But the drive is breathtaking. Public transport won't allow you to get off the beaten path. Within an hour you can see Rocky Mountain National Park, or go the other direction to Pikes Peak and the Garden of the Gods, or the Airforce Academy.

As others have said, don't rent at the airport. Maybe take the train or the bus to the first casino, and rent a car from there. But as much as you talk about the scenery in your trip reports, I think you'll be disappointed if you don't rent a car. You will miss a lot.

100% correct! I want to make that trip but will I recover my expenses playing $25-$100 DD and 6 deck games with a $100 max. It does not leave much room for cover plays and a session over an hour might make it obvious that you are counting. especially if there is heat.

Cover plays at your stakes? Or do you mean ploppy plays so the other players at the table don't get angry with you, ruining your relaxing experience?

You can beat a DD game with a 1-4 spread, especially with good rules.

On a 6D game, obviously lower your min to $5 or $10, and don't use cover.

The thing is, when I go to CO it isn't for the casinos; they're just a side dish. The beautiful state is the main course. If you make enough to cover your expenses without earning anything, it is the perfect vacation. And once you get outside of Denver, everything is very affordable. If you go off season, say in summer or fall, you can rent a mountain cabin for peanuts.

For all you Canadians out there, think of Banff. That's Colorado, minus the castle.
