Preciously, you caught my point! If that’s the case (which I think everybody agrees), let’s not pretend we want the casinos to move the cut card further back because we care about the casinos making more money. I see APs making this argument all the time in books and forums all the way back to Ken Uston’s days. The fact is we want the cut card further back because it benefits us, just like having all the tables be 3:2.
Also, it’s a double standard to say we want the casino to move the cut card further back so they can take the ploppy’s money faster ...and hopefully more of it. But then I see APs say that 6:5 is bad for the caisno since it’ll take the ploppy’s money so fast they won’t play bj again.
Which is it? Do we want the casinos to take the ploppy’s money fast or slow? It seems like we can’t make up our mind.
As for me, I can’t control what a casino does so I just play the best games I can find. The casinos are going to do what they do.
Hey Sharky, where did I say I was doing any research on “fixed demand”? I could care less what you believe. If you want to believe moving the cut card further back will generate more demand and make the casinos more money, go ahead. It doesn’t bother me. I’ve just never understood why this cut card belief is so important to people in the AP community. The casinos will put the cut card where they put it. It’s up to us to decide if we want to play their games. If I don’t like their games, I don’t play them.
Freightman: I let this ship sail long ago...let this guy go on his rants about how smart and self-important his ideas are. You aren't going to win, that is his/her/their point.
However, for the spirit of the game, I will interject:
@Dbs: Explain to me precisely how you are beating 6:5? What are the average rules for your game? What is your spread? Do you Wong? Level of count? Ace-reckoned or side counting? The reason I ask is to get a better understanding of what you are getting at. There are few games (that I am aware of) that will allow you to break the 100 SCORE ceiling. Tarzan comes to mind when it comes to someone performing such feat. And, if you can somehow achieve a SCORE of +100, why are you playing 6:5 rather than 3:2 where your SCORE would be higher, resulting in greater winnings overall?
Wow, you guys never give it a break. Did you read G Man’s post saying my 6:5 games are an exception? Well he’s right. Do you think I’m going to post all that stuff here about my games and have the AP community try to find those games and burn them out? That would be kind of stupid, wouldn’t it? I wish I’d never brought it up now. But in this case Three is right...there are some pretty good opportunities out there if some (not all) APs wouldn’t have their head in the sand and be so close minded.
I’ll tell you the same thing I told Sharky. Btw, I’ve pretty much given up on Freightman, he’ll never get it. You can believe what you want to believe. It doesn’t bother me. My life is not impacted by what you believe. There are a lot of reasons I do what I do. I’ll give you one hint. All the good 6:5 games I’ve found are not close to my house so I can’t play them all the time. When I’m not around good 6:5 games, I play 3:2 games. And I’ve already given you answers to some of your questions, like my spread, so you need to go back and read some of my posts.
As far as where the casinos place the cut cards and how you feel about 6:5, please go ahead and feel however you want. If it makes you feel better, then get on these forums and go to town with your complaining. As for me, I’m going to play the games casinos offer me that I feel can be beat. When the games become so bad, they can’t be beat, then guess what? I’m going to quite going to casinos. Casinos are under no obligation to provide me game that can be beat. It will not impact my life much if I stop going to casinos. I hope you have other things going on in your life too so you can say the same thing. I really do wish you the best.
