Wouldn’t 6:5 affect the EV of counters more than that of poppies, since much of our edge comes from raising our bets when BJs more likely to happen?
First, there are no games I am aware of "dealt down to the last card" or that tolerate monster spreads both of which you would need. The value gained by HIOPTII over hilo falls way short of overcoming the loss in edge. That dream you speak of will soon become a nightmare.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!
This has nothing to do with this but a few years back I came across a 6 deck game that was dealt to the very last card.
When the last card was dealt, the cards that were on the table were left there, the dealer shuffled (one pass R&R in 30 secs) and then kept going where they left off.
The game had full ES.
Those where the days.
This thread is SO friggin' pathetic. It is impossible to post virtually anything without immediate counter reactions from people who are just madly in love with hearing themselves talk.
Making asinine statements such as what a great game 6:5 can be if only you're creative and can think outside the box and all this other horse manure is truly insulting to blackjack greats such as Gman. As if he didn't understand that if you dealt a SD game to the end and could spread 50-1 with impunity, you might actually win a few pennies at this loathsome game!
Instead of the naysayers' trying to impress us with their dazzling innovative capabilities, just FOR ONE F**KING TIME in the history of this forum, let the f**king original statement stand and STFU!
Don
Don, I actually found the counter reactions useful since I play quite a bit 6:5 bj. It was good to see other APs playing 6:5, and I appreciated their commentary on it. The main reason I play the 6:5 games I’ve found is because I used Norm’s products and got a SCORE above 100. I obviously don’t like 6:5 but if the SCORE is above 50, I play it. Your SCORE rating system is what drives my decisions on the games I play. The 6:5 game I play has higher SCORES than most of the DD 3:2 games I play. I also realize I need to play the games casinos offer. If I don’t like them, I need to move on and not play them.
I have no idea who Gman is but I found his idea of how to stop 6:5 similar to pissing in the ocean, meaning it’d have no impact on 6:5. The ploppies don’t care or aren’t following twitter on this topic so this won’t have any impact on 6:5. I guess you could say it’s a noble cause, which will have no impact on 6:5. The AP community is too small.
6:5 will live or die based on what casinos decide to do, and they will base their decisions on their internal data. If they see it hurting revenue, they will reverse their decision and go back to 3:2. Do I see this happening? No. Why? Because these are the same ploppies who put more money on the side bet (that has a huge house edge) than their main bet. I’ve seen them in action. Most don’t care if it’s 6:5 or 3:2. They just want to bet on something and lose their money. Lol.
I don’t think we should stomp out free speech since we don’t agree with people’s counter augments. I wanted to say some opposing things when I first read Gman’s post, but decided against it since I know 6;5 is a hot bottom topic within the AP community. From my perspective, it was refreshing to see some respected APs make some counter augments on this topic.
I was thinking of how idiotic your comments were, especially those commenting on your SCORE exceeding 100. Especially humorous given that can’t be CSCORE given your prior commentary of low stakes play.
But I’m not going to Criticize your post. I’ll let everyone else tell you how incredibly stupid your post is.
Please refer to my post 10.

Freightman, if I’m doing my sims wrong for 6:5 than I’m doing them wrong for DD 3:2. All I know is I’m comparing apples with apples. I’ve also run my 6:5 game past other APs and they have run some sims on my game and got the same SCORE as I’ve got. Who knows they might be doing their sims wrong too. We all use Norm’s products.
I’ve been playing 6:5 games for the past three years and my results have been very good. I know this is the short term and I haven’t played enough to get in the long run. Yes, I’m a low level player so maybe this game works for me and it won’t work for a high stakes player. On my 6:5 games, I can spread easily 1 to 20 with no heat. Sometimes my spread is much more.
Please read your early post on this thread. You also said you believed 6:5 could be a good game under the right conditions. Why have you back peddled? Is it because you have no backbone? I’m starting to question if you have any convictions on anything. You just say whatever you think will make you popular.
