looks like a lot of bad states out there. I always heard the southern states were the worst, but really don't know.

It's not the states, it's specific towns and Counties and they can be almost anywhere. Based on my friends experiences....the worst seems to be
1. Northern Arizona along I-40 around Flagstaff
2. PA Turnpike in middle of the State around Carlisle
3. Northeast side of the MS River across from St Louis going towards Chicago and Springfield
4. North of Portland OR
5. Central Ohio
6. Rural East Texas between Houston and Dallas
7. Missouri (whole state)
8. Western Kansas
9. Rural Northern NV (Fallon, Tonopah, etc).
Go the speed limit, keep the amount you carry to a reasonable level, get credit lines at a few casinos and use those lines for machine play for which you can take actual cash from the cage, get muliple bank accounts and/or safe deposit boxes. etc. There are ways to have access to bankroll replenishment funds without having to expose a significant sum to the police.
Christ almighty, I guess the meme of "State-Sponsored Highway Robbery" has some validity to it.
Why not, you know, raise taxes rather than outright steal from the average American.
What is the mean and median value(s) for forfeiture in the US? Maybe use that as a benchmark to keep x amount under that to decrease the probability of forfeiture...unless they take 20 bucks as well if they deem some fictitious 'probable cause'.
Question: Is there any other legal activity that can aide in the reduced probability of seizure by the state? Letter from an attorney? Bank statement(s)?
Make sure first you did not consent to them searching the vehicle to begin with. Your safe would be included with that. Sure, they might still do it, but you'll be able to kill them in court. If they do search anyway, call your lawyer right then and there.

I was pulled over a few months ago on I-76 on the Ohio/Pennsylvania border for no other reason than having a very out of state licence plate. When I asked why I was pulled over the cop replied that I had drifted over the white line several miles back. Impossible. Did not happen. Then out of nowhere he says "I studied human behaviour and you look nervous. I'll give you the chance to come clean with me right now." This was completely insane. I had done absolutely nothing wrong. Eventually he took his dog and sniffed around my car (perfectly legal per Rodriguez v. United States) and that was the extent of it. Apparently I was driving on a major drug trafficking route.
This is no joke. Know your rights and know where you will need to pay closer attention. Had my money been seized it would have been an enormous pain in the ass to get back....even though of course I had done nothing wrong.
It seems to me the concern is not so much with our law enforcement, but more with the bad guy watching who leaves with a large cash out.
I do have a conceal carry license, but am as of yet reluctant to carry into the casino.

Bluesman on GC had an excellent POM, ca 2012, "How to Avoid Cash Seizures." I actually got the locked money bag he recommended on Amazon.
For the newbies on here, bigplayer is the real deal and a treasure trove of great info. Read everything he writes, then read it again.
+ 1000! BP had numerous POMs on GC. I particularly liked his watch as a RNG. My only "gripe" was he occasionally replied to Zbar--"forcing" me to also read Zbar to fully understand BP's reply lol.
You have to surrender your ID to get a credit line for machine play. One more inclusion in a database. Does this compromise your anonymity for unrated BJ play? Or should you simply not ever play unrated BJ in any casino where you play VP for either comps or have a credit line?
BTW, BP you've provided invaluable advice that I've followed through the years!
