Another view of it is that rarely do casino security thugs get involved in half-shoeing, thus reducing the potential for violence against the skilled patron. AP's using skills other than counting can benefit, too.

I like playing in Missouri. I much prefer half-shoeing to backoffs with the nasty casino-employee behavior that often accompanies them. I don't care what ploppies think.
