Yeah, everyone in the pit hate smokers too. I have heard staff discussing how tolerant to be and the issue of smoking often comes up or whether a player requests a nonsmoking table after being seated. It can often be the straw that breaks the camel's back off or allows the camel to carry a lot more of a load. The dealers always seem to be in the path of the smoke and can't leave. Chain smokers are considered a cancer. In this modern age were many jurisdictions have laws protecting workers and/or patrons from life threatening conditions at work or in public places including second hand smoke. The staff can be proactive where the law is lacking. Often they do just that.
