I watched some of this video, apparently being backed off equates to real success at being an AP. Guy comes across as a real low life thug - and that's what he is, with issues.
I hope this was a sarcastic comment. Back offs are badges of shame. The key to success is longevity unless you are a slash and burn player. They expect quick BO's and it is all about extracting as much as you can before you get the BO. i can respect that but when they burn all their bridges and then start whining about it I just think that was the path you chose you should be fine with the future you knew lay ahead. I personally think it's good policy to not show ill will towards others on a tight nit public space such as this. If we let ourselves pull out pitch forks in group think then it can easily polarize spectators and others. It's very easy to discount one side (not that there always is more than one right side) if you see petty aggression, ridicule and the like. If you keep your comments cordial and noninflammatory, people are less likely to be distracted by any drama and look at things in a very matter of fact way. The merits of peoples statements and the skill or lack of skill of peoples play can then stand on its own without a petty internet fight breaking out.
There's enough flame on the internet already. We won't miss out on much if this becomes the driest place on the net to read and write posts.
I always give new members the benefit of doubt and accept their friend requests. I have no regrets. I try to keep things respectful but at times that resolve is tested and I may fail. But most of the time I think I do well at hitting the mark.

Anyone can get backed off at any casino if they wear a "blackjack professional" hoodie at the tables, pass out business cards, and OPENLY talking about the count or how his "shuffle tracking skills" are rusty. You guys are literally feeding an online troll. That is his online persona: The Bad Body beating the weak casinos while the "haters" balk at his awesome skills. You are his tools for the act and you all are playing the part perfectly! Best thing you guys can do is ignore him. If one of his followers inquires about blackjack, give them the truth about blackjack. Don't disprove something unless they specifically ask for it. The less negative you are, the less ammo he has against you!
Also, this guy WILL be a boon for the casino industry! Much like Thorp's "Beat the Dealer" made many counters, so will this guy (but not to the same magnitude). This mean there is possibly an army of losing players who will give to the casino and the casino will welcome them with open arms! If you can time this right, there could be an opportunity to camouflage yourself as one of Morgensters disciples while looking like a disadvantage player all the way through. Assuming he and his followers do not follow basic correctly; looking, walking, talking, acting, like them could be +EV for professional players around.
The unfortunate thing about all this is the fact many young impressionable players will go down the path of destruction. If, assuming if, what he demonstrates is a poor understanding of Blackjack advantage play and other follow in his footsteps, there will be a trail of destruction of many financial lives. Being young, dumb, and full of cum...one has the will and energy to "stick it to the man" while, without knowing, hurting themselves all the way through. I fear many will not find fault in themselves or Mike, but rather others. A group of amateur AP's who will fail may turn their anger towards others at the table for their loss. I personally do not want to be next to "bro jr" while variance takes him/her South for the Winter.
As for his posting about the forum, let it slide. Norm is an adult like the rest of us and we can all handle comments both rude and/or scathing. Nothing here is new. Just an internet troll taking the angst of a young population and exploiting it for fame and attention.

Any serious AP who watches this idiot's videos for more than 5 minutes should be able to tell he's absolutely full of shit. Whoever can't, then it's their loss. They probably wouldn't have made it in the AP world anyway if they took Michael Morgenstern's words over buying a book from a credible blackjack author.
This guy will eventually go away when people finally realize he has no clue what he's doing, or they lose all their money due to blindly following this moron. This "blackjack army" that he wants to build will be the biggest shit show if anyone actually joins up with him. The point I was making is, he actually believes that back offs are a badge of merit - he brags about how often he has been backed off, as though it's something to be proud of. The guy really has no idea.
