    I know a player using the ultimate gambit on a LS, DD, .75 game with great success.

    I think he's referring to a method of cover play described by Ian Andersen in his book: "Burning the Tables in Las Vegas."

    Hi stakes play with low cost cover play which would include, for example, always taking insurance, surrendering like a mad man, standing soft 18 v10. If I recall the book (general recollection not guaranteed to be accurate) he ran some of these plays through Stanford wong in order to calculate the cost in relation to the stakes and spread played.
