That is why I love to surrender my 13-16 at times, Flash..I would like RSA as well please.oh and stay on s17.And once in a while count my soft 18 AS 19. and paid my doubled down 20 as 21.
I like it better when they pay you half your bet for surrendering. It's tempting to make huge bets and surrender nearly every hand, but you gotta think they won't forget to take your money on every hand. Table layout: Surrender pays 0.5 : 1.
Years ago I had a dealer that gave me back half my bet when I surrendered but left the other half in the circle. It was basically if I didn't like my hand I could pull down my bet. The dealer cut really deep, and couldn't add 3 cards to stave off Armageddon, and payed BJ on split aces. It was like BJ heaven so I played a marathon session. I only won like $200. The extra surrender money and other dealer errors were way more than that. They never asked for the dealer error money back and I played there hundreds of times since then. I just surrendered as i normally would though with a slight modification for larger bets of course.
Every time I get an opportunity worth over exposing myself for the results are disappointing. LoL
Is anyone willing to share areas or casinos that STILL do have surrender? Does it exist in any form OTHER than late surrender? Any variations you have experienced? I'm solely interested in U.S. houses, however. Though I'm sure it would be nice to play where Jabber might be playing. CBJN and Wizard's BJ Survey are not always that up to date and conditions change. If unwilling to post on most public portion of this forum, please feel free to PM.

I've never had full early surrender, and the large geographical locale that I am in has never had S17, and I've done well. Doesn't pay to travel any great distance simply for a rule variation. There needs to be some other compelling reason to incur travel expense. These may include simply expanding your play base, some well paying promo, low travel expense, to reduce exposure to any one store.
If you are going to a location solely because a rule variation, you should calculate the dollar difference of EV measured against the actual travel expense. This would be a simple calc of your percentage edge against your average bet multiplied by hands per hour.
