Since we talked about gambling movies recently, and before I waste money renting that movie on Amazon, is it worth watching or should I take one for the team?
Is it all centered around poker or do they also mention his counting career?
I give it a thumbs up! If you like the gambling genre, then this is worth watching. The production is good as well as his life story. It is mainly centered on poker from which he made his living. It does mention blackjack as well as other games. The guy was a card playing genius. Search for past threads regarding this film.
I don't "think" you're referring to the Stu Unger Documentary I watched (which is available on youtube), but I found that insightful and entertaining... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pt2AOIz1wk
My error.
I thought that we were discussing the actual Full Length "biopic'":

I was talking about the movie. Which I will not watch now that ZMF trashed it. Imperioli isn't a great actor and he looks barely like him. Neither does Tobey Maguire look like Bobby Fischer but he can act.
I otherwise watched numerous documentaries about him. Watching his games is of course partly frustrating since we can't see hole cards.
I'm fascinated by the guy.
I bought the book One of a kind: The rise and fall of Stuey 'The Kid', Unger, The World's Greatest Poker Player.
I really enjoyed reading it. He made mega mega millions in his short life span and blew it as fast as he made it.
A side note that I noticed although I don't know it to be true but from his interview on GWE and from the description of him in the book is that Billy Baxter is a real gentleman.

It is amazing what those big time gamblers will bet thousands of dollars on. They'll bet on golf, raindrops, breast implants, poker, weight loss or anything else you want to bet on and I think usually they are either good at it or figure out some way to get an advantage. Of course much of it is from rich suckers who just want to gamble with the best.
