CSM = waist of money.
Hell yeah, Boz... I mean... if you're going to play against a CSM why not go all the way and have it 6:5? What I'm curious about is why the EV of 2,2vs3 matters or anything other than basic strategy matters if you wake up in an episode of "The Twilight Zone" to find yourself playing against a CSM and what is the difference between the "big money" and the "small money" when playing against a CSM? You must really like Baccarat tournaments to put yourself through that. It's difficult for me to imagine enough comp incentives to make that little endeavor worthwhile.

[why not go all the way and have it 6:5?],not in my place.
[why the EV of 2,2vs3 matters], told already, I need to know the right way to play it, in my rider strategy table.
["The Twilight Zone"], I have all the 156 episodes 1959-1964 in my hard disk, just finished them this year.
[difference between the "big money" and the "small money"], please google rider strategy blackjack.
[like Baccarat tournaments], there are prize.
[It's difficult for me to imagine], not suprise.
There are places, like Macau, where the CSM BJ game has rules bringing the House Edge
down to the point where "playing for comps" can be worthwhile, with an invitation for a
"free roll" tournament event in the offing.
Where the O.P. makes an error is by underestimating the number of competitors in the tournament.
e.g. with $100,000 in prizes, if there is 200 players, the e.v. is $500; but it may be closer to $25,000
in prizes and 300 players ~ dropping the e.v. to way under $100.
I once succeeded in placing high enough to garner a $7,500 pay-out in a free-roll baccarat tournament.
The overwhelming deciding factor is LUCK due to the hosting casinos establishing a format that clearly favors luck.
That is purposely done to get the contestants away from the tournament tables and back to the playing tables with
minimum time spent at non-gambling activities like tournaments. They will also schedule the "sessions" to keep you
from comfortably leaving the premises. It often has scheduled over two days to keep the players there.
