    The HNF Count Posted

I gave my HNF Count a more permanent home on my blog here. I included heretofore unpublished indices, courtesy of Dr. Brett Harris. As a reminder, this count uses the tags {1,1,1,2,2,1,1,0,0,-2}, and outperforms Hi-Opt 2 by 5+% in the sims I've seen or run.

A patent absurdity, unless Hi-Opt II is crippled by not Side-Counting Aces.

When looking into similar claims in the past - that has always been the case.

They both use a side-count of aces.

Certainly within the realm of possibility.

    Norm,

Can we PLEASE simulate this with YOUR S/W. ?

    I haven't nearly as much faith in Karl Janacek's S.B.A. S/W.

NOTE: I see where this count is tagging Aces as -3 making

it a Level Three Count. It tags Aces at +1 for playing.

With Hi-Opt II the tag for Playing ranges from 0 to +6.

Apparently back in the day, Don gave SBA5.5 a superior rating. That should mean something, eh?

Back in the day, Karel's software was state of the art and very highly respected. But, he didn't continue to develop and support it, and, of course, eventually, all of Norm's products surpassed Janecek's and are/were vastly superior. Times change. Doesn't make Karel a bad person. :-) (He's also a very dear friend of mine, but that is immaterial to the discussion.)

I await the (comparative) simulation results.

CERTAINLY the onus of responsibility remains unmoved.

It is not I who claimed the superiority of HNF.

The obligation is with "First Normal Form"

    That claim remains UNSUPPORTED,

and I hope isn't destined for the rubbish bin.

Basically blackjack should not even be played anymore except by ploppies. So which system is the best performer is a moot topic.

My obligation is fulfilled. I stated that it performs 5+% better in the sims I've seen. I then showed a sim I've seen. Ta-da.
