Do you play heads up? If you aren't using multiple count systems and you are ok with counting the numbers of rounds, then count every 19 rounds of play, and consider it 1 deck played. I wouldn't recommend that, but it's an option.
What I would do is purchase a discard rack, maybe 2 or 3 of them for cheap online and practice at home. Get a random amount of cards after you stack up the # of decks you play (1,2,4,5,6,7,or 8) then take a random amount of cards out of that stack and place them in the discard rack then: 1.) Estimate the remaining cards in the discard rack 2.) verifying exactly how many there are by counting them out 3.)Calculate the TC 4.) make necessary adjustments as to how far you were off/on from there.
