I use HL but I admit my deck estimation sucks, except at casinos where I have played regularly. Different kinds of cards, discard trays, Spanish 21 vs regular bj, 8 vs 6 decks, they all mess me up. The numbers say that HL is a tiny bit better in shoe games but if I'm off by one deck? Maybe not.

The truth is though, if you are playing decent games, putting out big action when the count is good, leaving the table in the negative counts, and not making expensive cover bets or plays, the sims say you are getting most of the profit with any reasonable count. I decided long ago the time to get 5-10 percent better at bj was better spent focusing on other advantage plays, and I would only play juicy games/play for fun but if you really want to master counting theres nothing wrong w that, this is a bj forum after all.

every place I go squares up the cards between shuffles....ck the distance from the top of tray (1/4", inch, etc), then you just extrapolate..not hard

    Wise words right there.

You know, the injuries had a LOT to do with that, too.

The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
