Casinos in Chile: Should I play here?

I am a new player living in Viña del Mar, Chile and though I have a good understanding of basic strategy I don't have a strong grip on how certain rules affect the house odds.

Essentially what I want to know, is this a Casino I should be playing in, or am I getting ripped off?

    Heres the situation:

    1. Dealer always hits 17 (no soft 17)
    2. Dealer checks for Black Jack
    3. There is early surrender!!! (but only on 10)
    4. You cannot surrender to Aces
    5. You can Double on anything
    6. No doubling after a split

Everything else I would say is pretty standard, black jack pays 3-2, ties are pushes, etc. etc.
I'm not really an accomplished counter, but for those who might want to know, these seem like soft, slow dealers.

I put 4 and 5 in bold because I know that early surrender is considered a huge plus. But how does it compare with what seems to be the disadvantage of no surrender to Aces? My gut is that this seems like a pretty good set-up but I'm worried that the no surrender to Ace's rule may be tilting the game against me more than I realize.

I would really appreciate some opinions about whether this is somewhere I should be playing.

Play within your bankroll, pick your games with care and learn everything you can about the game. The winning will come. It has to. It's in the cards. -- Bryce Carlson

If I am reading you correctly this is an H17, nDAS game. These poor rules override the ES10. I am also confused about dealer checking for BJ. I would have thought there was no dealer hole card. Out of curiosity what are the max limits in Chile?

    mikey3189,

Is this correct? For example, if the dealer has a 9 and an 8, she hits? But then she does NOT hit on soft-17, like A-6?

By the way, you did not indicate the number of decks in use: is it 6? Also, can you tell us the average penetration?

    Thanks!

I have no idea if those casinos are honest or not. Anyone else have an opinion?

DogHand, the game is regular old fashion S17.
Although rules are decent, penetration in Chile is probably the WORST in the world.
This is the first country where I saw a cut of 5 decks.
As soon as they see a player spread even a little the axe comes down.
First they will half shoe you and engage in the longest most complicated shuffle known to man.
If you dont get the message, they will continue to decrease penetration until you leave.
Luckily there is a law that doesnt allow them to cut more than 5 decks, so thats as far as they will go..............

    It wasnt always like this.
We all know who we have to thank for this.

5 decks cut off of what? 8 decks?

Are you saying they half-shoe everyone?

    6 decks.
    No, not everyone.
If they see you move your bets around just a little bit they will half shoe you.
If you speak a foreign language and bet big they will 3/4 shoe you.
They were hit really bad recently.
To say they are paranoid doesnt even begin to describe it.

Who are you referring to? I would think a number of well bankrolled teams or individuals could hit them (or anyone else) hard.
