Fun to read, but surely not necessary for calculating N0, which is an extremely simple concept. Just take your per-hand variance and divide it by the square of your per-hand expectation. So, suppose your one-hand variance (assuming a decent bet spread) is, say, 400% (4.00) and your per-hand e.v. is, say, 1% (0.01). Squaring 0.01, we get 0.0001. Dividing 4 by 0.0001, we get 40,000, which is the N0.
A little simpler, no (or N0, as the case may be!)?
