You should be using half or quarter deck calculations

The gains in using quarter deck are so little that it is not worthwhile. Half deck is good but, the context of the discussion is for a newer player. Full deck will be just fine. The increase in score is minimal, the largest gain would be in RoR. Depending on bankroll and what %kelly they are betting it could still be overkill when less errors will be made with full deck and less brainpower used. (If of course they decide to use a balanced count)

If I understood correctly, the main problem is that their sims were made before SCORE was "invented".
So they optimized the betting scheme for KO and used the same one for the other systems, thus incurring in a great bias towards a higher KO performance.

Now, with SCORE, you put all "games on an even playing field, assuming we define “even” as an equal and constant risk of ruin, assuming the same starting bankroll and the same betting limits for each system in identical games".

No, this is not about SCORE. They used the same betting structure on all the sims. The betting structure was tailored to KO's strengths. I'm not sure when SCORE was invented, there was probably some form of it at least at the time of writing KO blackjack.

I thought that meant they had optimized the betting scheme for KO. But I guess this is not exactly the optimal betting ramp used to calculate SCORE, right?
What I meant about SCORE is that, OK it is not directly about SCORE, but if they had used it, they would have optimized each system individually, thus having even grounds for comparison. Since they tweaked the betting scheme for KO and used the same one for the other systems, of course they biased the analysis.
