Dealers that can't deal and talk at the same time

Have you had the dealers that want to talk and tell stories the entire time they are dealing? I don't really mind but when they can't do both at the same time I get so damn irritated. It also seems like I can't win when I get frustrated and I know I'm not playing any differently.

It seems like it usually happens on the last day when I'm getting ready to go home and I don't have much time.

I totally know a dealer like this. Playing heads up with this dealer yields about 25 hands per hour if lucky and ignoring him doesn't help. He is actually better with a full table. It baffles me why he doesn't get fired but they are unionized. I simply avoid his table.

The dealer i was talking about tucked a card face down twice when somebody turned over a blackjack as if they were doubling down. I guess he knows he can't talk and deal at the same time. I know he's been dealing about 20 years.

I moved to a single deck table with a higher limit and won $450 in about 30 minutes. I ate a buffet and drove home. So maybe that was God's way of telling me to move.

ploppies that slow the game down talking to the dealer. Drunk patrons,(people having a good time) .They all drive me insane until i realized that's the way a casino is.

I know of one dealer whom I avoid for that reason: so much talking, and holding the cards while chatting, on and on. Of course, when I chat, even just a little, I immediately forget the count. And there I am, sitting there, with no idea of the what count was or might be or what to bet.

Yea, you're not the only one who gets pissed when the dealer stalls the game while he tells stories and talks to the players. It's hard to hold in the anger, but it is what it is, last thing you want to do is show anger and bring attention to yourself. Just get up after that shoes and go to another table, unless that dealer is giving extraordinary pen.

Some casinos are actually encouraging this behavior. I think they figured out they are losing the plops like crazy to the higher house edge causing them to lose money so fast they decide gambling is not fun anymore. To combat this they have dealers becoming primarily entertainers so the plops think their money is still lasting. The casino is deciding to give up a boatload of cash from high number of hands played at a small edge for a small basket of cash played with far fewer hands per hour with a higher house edge. The casino suits are always their own worst enemy. The trouble is the suits get paid big bucks to make decisions that cost the casino a bundle. What a bizarre business model.

We were getting 10X comps on Sunday and I think I made more in comps than I was allowed to wager. I'm set up for buffets and t-shirts for a few more trips.

I was at GN a few years back playing heads up at a "fast paced" 50 hph. Finally said to the dealer, with the critter standing right behind - you seem to be a nice guy, but I came to Vegas to play cards, not yack about nothing - seemed to do the trick.

I've had these dealers before, and unfortunately they have been some of the nicest and coolest in my experience. I hate to tell them it's nice to chat but I'm going to have a try at that empty table over there. I am there to get hands in after all.
