I obviously picked the wrong name for this thread. I should have used "Fight the other players". We'd have a whole lot of fighting going on!

I try not to boast but for some reason I cannot help myself with this one, as it fits this thread. I had an argument with a huge, grubby Hell's Angel biker once at the table, over his impressive facial swastika. (All I said was I like your Hitler...) He swore he would smash my sorry arse to pulp. When I asked why all his front teeth were missing he stomped off mouthing obscenities while pointing at my throat. I forgodaboudit. After I won another $47,985 over the next hour or so, I called it a night, went to the cage and collected. Down in the carpark, as I opened my Ferrari's door, I was suddenly surrounded by Hitler and about 27 of his evil-smelling mates, all wielding tire levers, machetes and num chukas. (It's hard to get guns in this country, even for nasty bikers.)

I felt sorry for these idjits. How were they to know I once kicked Bruce Lee's arse and broke Rambo's jaw? Anyway, to make a long story short, the local cops still have not solved the mystery of how 23 Hells' wound up dead in a casino car park. I know I can trust you guys not to spill these beans. Oh and Hitler, he went down swingin at fresh air acourse.

You guys are funny. I just hope you are getting the life lessons I tell my history to convey. Like the previous post. I would swear there was no difference in what I was doing before and after the two or three play benching. My results were entirely different and make a strong argument to the contrary. Most of my huge beat downs received at the tables have been because I didn't take a break to reset myself and my focus. I would say the times I did leave a great game that was beating me badly I usually won my money back quick at the slightly lesser penetration game across town. I would swear that I would have been better off playing the "better" game but sometimes you need a short break to regroup yourself. Mathematically I should have stayed put but we are not computers. Sometimes a change is what is necessary to turn the tide. The times I refused to leave a great game boy did it get bad and I eventually had to quit without a turn of the tide. I know this is empirical and I may have had the same results or better if I stayed or the same results or worse had I moved on but the worst beatings rarely seem to follow you to the next place. The argument that it is all one big session is used to justify staying too often. It applies equally to ending a bad situation.

No offense Tthree, but that almost sounds a little voodooish. I go with the math 100% of the time.

Its voodooish about the math of BJ but not about the human aspect of BJ.

Tthree, I enjoy reading of your exploits but from the gist of them, I get the impression you are one of those bull strong just run right over them kind of guys. I would assume you are not too good at sports that require agility, quickness and lightness of foot are you, or am I missing something somewhere?

I need to correct myself. Should have said "close to" 100%. In a perfect world it would be 100%.

Well I am a bit long in the tooth these days for most sports but in my day I was not a tennis player and the games like soccer and lacrosse I was usually the goalie. I am not fast or quick except when running on adrenaline. I don't get that chasing a ball but chasing a ball carrier I was fast and quick. It is kind of funny you use those terms because I usually recovered a fumble by falling on it but one of the times I picked up the ball and tried to run with it I think I ran like 150 yards and ran over almost everyone else on the other team but only picked up about 20 yards on the return. I would have loved to see that tape. I am sure it was hilarious to watch me forget the object was to get to the end zone. The reality was it was a center sneak that I don't think was by design and the linebacker hit the center hard enough to free the ball. Nobody else on the O had moved until I picked up the ball. Then everyone was confused about what was going on. Nobody blocked for me and the entire offense was trying to tackle me and stood in my path to the end zone. 6 guys shoulder to shoulder right in my path with wide receivers covering the edges and the backs acting as linebackers. I think the fullback finally brought me down. I thought I gained a ton of yards until I looked at the sticks. Then I realized I had mostly run back and forth between the sidelines running over anyone in my path and then redirecting to avoid the next group of would be tacklers to hit someone else one-on-one until I was finally brought down. I felt kind of silly when I realized what I had done.

My point is you don't pull your weapon as a threat. You only pull it if you are prepared to use it. Thank God the two times I did have to defend myself against a armed man I had someone watching my back so we had the drop on the armed assailants and didn't need to fire a shot. One time the guy was surprised to see he had several guns trained on him. Thugs suddenly become polite in those situations. I had already diffused the situation and then signaled my buddies to show themselves. One was savvy enough to keep his position secret just in case someone else had the drop on us. Fortunately for the guy he only showed he had a gun and never pulled it. When I did the same he realized it wasn't a good idea. He asked what I would have done if he pulled his gun which usually means your answer will determine if he pulls it so I signaled my buddies to show themselves. The stupid situations you end up in before you learn to avoid them. The other time I was not the guy with the gun pointed at me but was one of the ones that had his back when some mafioso looking guy tried to rob the place I was working. His MO was to leave no witnesses but he had the common sense to put his gun away when he saw he a semi-automatic assault rifle and a shotgun aimed at his head and chest. He became quite cooperative as well. Let that be a lesson to you guys to have some backup in the area if it fits into how you transport your BR. It really helps to be spread out a little so the thugs don't know exactly what they are up against.
