In the next coming Hard Doubling tables, if you check them carefully against the TOB?s ones, you will notice that the discrepancies will vary between slightly and slightly-moderate. The reason is clear. Twenty five years ago when Prof. Griffin published them, he used estimations from infinite deck probabilities to make the appropriate inferences. With the tools and computers that were available at those times, frankly the only rationale solution, otherwise he would die out of desperation, while waiting for the exact computations to appear in front of his eyes. With new CPU?s running close to 3 Gigahertz the task has been reduced. Striving for exact calculations is not only a distinct possibility, it is also a must.

Being said that, my special gratitude for Cacarulo. His double checks, when the shadows of doubts tend to appear, his tips and more important his willingness to help if requested, have been proved to be the best encouragement you can get while working with any type of research. An undeserved luxury!

While eager waiting for Don?s signed book, my little present for him are the coming tables.
No doubt, he deserved my very best, ditto for the rest of you all.

Sincerely

Z
