Normally, when taking a trip, I have a general figure in mind...win enough to cover expenses plus about $1k for a 3 day, 20-25 hour actual playing time. Get to that goal, quit, enjoy having a pleasant trip back.

Unfortunately, I heard others and played. I was up $2k after 16 hours of playing time, should have quit. I lost $2200 in a good DD game with good penetration but the cards were awful, Dealer seemed to always beat me by one, make hands where she should have busted.

Now, I am sitting at airport, getting ready for trip home, feeling like crap, feeling I wasted 4 days I could have spent at home with family. If only I had packed it in and not played today.

One insight, real full time AP’s just wanna get the hours in, their goal is the long run. For the part-time recreational players, each single day is a goal of its own. You preserve wins so you could sleep good, feel good as many days as possible. I normally don’t allow myself to lose more than $1500 in any single day.

Just an impulsive rant....
