In my 5+ years playing this game, I have not taken extended driving trips. Based in MO, I have either flown (to Las Vegas, Denver, Biloxi) or driven to the one city on the other end of my state or to one location (Tunica, MS). I have not yet undertaken a trip through several states or to another state where I have driven around to casinos separated by distance.

Only on one occasion, I planned a trip to go to several cities by car, play in their casinos. I had thought of driving 240 miles, playing 3-4 casinos over 2 days at one city, drive to another state and city, play 2-3 casinos there, return to stop at the first city, play some more and then drive home. Trip was going to be about 1k miles RT, playing about 25 hours. I headed out with $6k on me (had the ability to draw from ATM for more if needed). I drove the 240 miles to the first city, lost $1800 at the first casino stop in 2 hours, next morning, I hit 2 more casinos and 4 hours later, I had lost another $1800. So, being upset, I just drove back because over 50% of my trip bankroll was gone. The 5 day planned trip became just an overnight trip. I suppose if I had won on Day 1, I would have continued to complete my trip. I suppose there is a learning curve I have to go through.

So, now I am seeking advice from those who take driving trips about planning and implementing them. Do you plan those trips in detail or remain flexible, that is, if you are having success at your first 2-3 casinos in your first city, do you stick around or do you drive onwards (so you could do another trip next month) as planned. How detailed is your planning? How much BR would you take for a 5 day trip of $1k miles and 25 hours of play? Lessons you learned from multiple road trips?

How do you plan where to go? For example, I am in the midwest, from MO, I can head west through Kansas, southwest to Oklahoma, south to MS and north Louisiana, up to Iowa and Minnesota, east to Illinois, Indiana etc. I suppose I can use CBJN and plot a trip but want to know how you do it.
