Idiot Savant: idiot question
Is an hand containing A-2-A-3 treated like an A-6 soft seventeen or would I stand as if it were "17"? At this point I usually feel lucky to have something I can stand on, even though 17 is a loser most of the time. If the dealer has a little card up, I could be taking the bust card if I hit and get a true hard 17.

As long as you're counting an ace as 11, it is still a soft 17. Remember, the only way you can win with a 17 is if the dealer busts. So hit that sucker!

You never stand on a hand that contains ace-6 no matter which cards go into making the 6. And, if you're going to think in terms of what the card you take might do to the dealer's hand, you need to read more about basic strategy and why this is NEVER, ever, the way to think!
