low stakes rookie: dividing the RC

What are the differences in win rate when a player divides his/her RC by full, half, or quarter decks in a shoe game?

Not much. Quarter-deck precision (which is what you mean to write) in a shoe game is utterly useless. Half-deck precision (still full decks, not dividing by half-decks) is slightly superior to always full decks, but the difference isn't large.

Most count systems calculate true count by dividing the running count by the number of full decks remaining. If there's 2 1/2 decks remaining you can either divide by 3 or for more accuracy divide by 2 1/2 = 5/2 (multiply by 2/5 or .4). You're still dividing by full decks but with half deck precision.

As published, the Zen count calculates true count by dividing by quarter decks remaining while the Mentor count calculates per 2 decks remaining. So with 1 deck remaining Mentor divides by 1/2 or multiplies by 2.

It might help to make a table and convert whatever you would be dividing by into something you can multiply by. So if there's 3 1/2 decks left you know to multiply by .3 etc.
