Stephen Adams: Busting %s In Spanish 21
Does anyone know the busting % for the dealer up cards from 2 to 6 in Spanish 21. A certain number of players accept rescue on failed(12-16)double downs against these hands. A person could offer more than the 50% that the Casino will pay to buy the hand off such a player. The busting percentages asked for above, would be necessary to determine how much you could actually offer for such hands.

They are in her book I can tell you that but I'm not sure if passing that info along is appropriate or not. Like proprietary or not. If Parker or Don or Norm says it's OK, it's OK with me.
Good idea though. They might not even let you do it anyway even if you knew the price.
If they would let you, asking you/anyone here, would just offering the guy to buy his hand for his original bet be wrong?
I guess in theory you could also buy vs dealer 7.

I am assuming that you are not playing the redouble game, so by rescue you mean forfeit.
The bust rates are such that you should forfeit againt 8 above, but play on against 7 and below.
Against a 7, don't offer anything because it's very, very close. Not worth it for the std dev. But for 2-6, it can be worth it; depends on what profit you offer them.
If you offer the forfeiting player a profit of a mere 12.5% of his original bet, you will need a bust rate of 36% to break even. From memory, that is the bust rate for a 5. So you would make a profit against a 6. Unfortunately, even completely stupid or inexperienced players don't usually forfeit against a 6.
In other words, you would have to offer a tiny incentive to the player for it to be worthwhile for you. The smaller the card, as you go down from 6 to 2, the smaller the incentive would have to be to the forfeiting player.
The idea is very clever and creative, by the way.
