zoomie: Recognised Players in Austrailia
The official rules of Pontoon approved somewhere in Australia 2/1/07 define a card counting "Recognised Player" at the link below. The potential consequences for the counter are at the link in the next post.

The casino can deal with the Recognised Player as described in the link. Bottom line: A counter and his/her teammates can each be restricted to betting a single box at the table minimum.
Maybe the rules are ignored?

"?Recognised Player? shall be a player or players who are
identified as a card counter by SKYCITY Adelaide
Management, another Casino (with an appropriate system
of recognition) or another regulatory body."
Translation: A "recognised player" is anyone who we say is a "recognised player" (I notice the term "card counter" is not defined anywhere). A recognised player is anyone we say is a recognised player for whatever reason we want to call them a recognised player.
And anyone playing with a "recognised player" can be considered a "recognised player" also (make sure those team players don't wiggle out).
I am sure that rules are not ignored, there are probably other rules that go beyond "recognised players", that say they can kick out anyone they want to kick out, simply because they want to kick them out for whatever reason, recognised player or not.

Not ignored. But the player has to have been "made" as a card counter before the rules can be applied, and the appropriate government employee has to be notified before applying the rules.
If you have not been made as a counter at Sky City or another casino that follows similar legislative procedures and has communicated the fact to Sky City, the rules cannot apply to you (yet).

Katarina Walker: I got restricted to one box at my local casino
so it's not worth playing on a full table, once you have been "sectioned". And the tables in the main halls of most Aussie casinos are always full. In the VIP rooms, they can kick you out for any reason, so they don't botehr with sectioning. They are allowed to do that here. It's in the rules. I'm not sure whether it applies in all states.
