kantarou: advantage on 10 and ace
it has been reported that if the player starts his hand with an ace, his edge is about 52%; if he starts with a ten-value, his edge is about 13%.
what are the changes in these edge when receiving only 6 to 5 payout on your blackjack?
thank you.

I think, roughly, 40-41%. I did it very quickly, though, so I won't swear to it.

dear don
thanks for the quick reply.
your estimation of 40 to 41% advantage, i believe is for the ace as your first card. what about an edge on 10 as your first card?
thanks again.

Well, Don was pretty close For 1D,H17,NDAS, SPA1,SPL3 I get the following:
1) BJ = 3/2
A = 52.635056474914094%
T = 13.982298961202728%
2) BJ = 6/5
A = 43.569030064349839%
T = 11.715792358561670%
Hope this helps.

Don Schlesinger: Re: advantage on 10 and ace
After I posted, I redid the ace and got 43%. The 10.8% was based on the same way I figured the ace. We differ now, because you used 52.63% and 13.98%, whereas I used the numbers assumed -- namely 52% and 13%.
As always, thanks for the extra precision.
