    chgobjpro: Norm why.....

don't you post much on bj21's green chip main general page? Are you a member? There are quite a few questions about the CV products there. Bad blood?

I can't. Whenever I do, a troll posts long streams of false accusations and tells people to not buy from me or I'll out them to casinos. Stanford refuses to remove these obvious personal attacks and refuses to allow me to respond. So, I haven't posted since early 2006 and dropped them as a distributor.(GC members can blame Stanford and the troll for losing their 10% discount.) Some people may think this silly. But I post under my real name, am still active in the financial industry, and it would be quite foolish for me to expose myself to continuing false accusations of fraud. The financial industry is quite sensitive. So due to Stanford's policies, "trollism" wins.

A better, more logical, question, would be, both for Norm and for me, why don't people from bj21 come over here, to the free pages, when they want an immediate and full answer or explanation for anything that involves Norm or me? It isn't as if we're difficult to find.

They want to have their cake and eat it, too. They want information from Norm and me, and then they want us to come over there, where no matter what we say, including, "The sky is blue," gets twisted and turned into a senseless argument.

A perfect example is a recent thread involving orster 52, MP, Cacarulo, and me. Go back and reread everything I wrote and then decide if my remarks merited the asinine comments of MathProf. Or, read Nanuck's completely gratuitous comments re me, in a different thread above, involving MJ, who is a good guy and surely understood my teasing of him. Admittedly, the remarks come from a complete asshole, but why should Norm or I subject ourselves to this kind of abuse?

Norm Wattenberger: In these days of rapidly declining resources

we've decided that two loops in the letter preceding n are wasteful. Over the last 100 years I estimate that this extra loop has used 53,947,294 barrels of ink. Black ink is made from carbon black which is produced by burning oil. Too many dinosaurs have given their lives for this extra flourish.

As usual, you've made an excellent point. I'll address you as "Norn" from now on.

The folks at SNL were onto something equally progressive with their Decibet way back in 1976:

Perhaps but it still doesn't make it right. DS should have to rewrite his post.

ES: My 2 Cents on this Issue

Why would Wong allow someone to troll blackjack's premier programmer and a general expert on the game? I wish more knowledgeable people would post on advantageplayer.com. Look at how few posts Don's Domain gets. BJ21.com gets many more posts and has knowledgeable members including but not limited to Wong, Al, Math Prof and Bootlegger--I would like to see them, at least the last two, on this board--but this board gets little if any trash posts. I subscribe to both, but I only post here. I admit that I read bj21.com's politics page. It can be informative, provocative and outrageous. I'm glad that this board has no similar page. Let's stay friends and avoid politics and religion unless they directly relate to gambling!

If Stanford doesn't want authors on his site; so be it.

Take your pick: a) He doesn't care, as long as the site continues to get volume; b) He doesn't read his own board very often; c) He suffers fools infinitely better than we do here; d) All of the above.

This board is semi-moderated. If you try to post bullshit, it never sees the light of day. Other boards allow any kind of garbage to go up. Some people resent "censorship" and bandy about free-speech first amendment crap, as if everyone has some God-given birthright to post anything he pleases to a Web site. He doesn't, and we see to it that civility reigns here, and on Don's Domain, and that trolls never have a chance to disrupt.

    So wise. :-)

Oops! I take that back. :-)

Er, how about two out of three?

    > I'm glad that this board

The readership could vote for it 99.9%, and there'd still never be such a board. So much for democracy! :-)

That's the way it has always been here. At other sites, your mileage may vary.

    chgobjpro: Some thoughts

Except for one free page board, everyone there is paying about $50 a year for green chip and the other related boards, they must feel we have to get our money's worth. Also, are your (DS and NW) memberships comped by SW?

    Norm Wattenberger: Re: Some thoughts

Yes. And we never charged him for our posts In fact I have a years old check in a drawer for a POM. And when BJ21 appeared a decade ago; I wanted to see it succeed so I took a chance and bought a year in advance and a bunch of ads that I never ran. But I'm not asking to be a poster. All I asked is that either libelous attacks be removed as per the posting rules, or the libeled party be able to respond. One or the other. I was accused, by my real name, of criminal activities and not allowed to respond. The problem is that authors are excluded from the proscription against personal attacks.

I am also no longer asking for any solution. Stanford will run his board the way he runs his board. I am only commenting here now because I was asked.

About Blackjack: The Forum

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
