Daily Dubble: Naughty messages
I just spent about 15 minutes trying to edit a new post on the Vegas page because it supposedly contained "naughty" language. What a monstrous pain that was! In the end I found by trial and error, that my post was rejected because it contained the following phrases. For some reason, these are now not considered naughty in the context of THIS post.
1. Glove compartment (had to change to glove "box")
2. Cabs can be tough to "come by" (had to change to "find")
3. After the second shift "comes on" (had to change that to "arrives")
4. Sh*tty games (changed to "lousy" games-OK, maybe this one IS too naughty)
Is that screwy or what? Am I missing something, or is your filter a little too strict? Is it because my post was really long? Is it because I have not posted very often? Has this been a problem on your site?
Hope the language in this post does not offend! No double entendre intended...

Parker: Should be okay now
We had some blocks in place to prevent spam bots from posting links to porn sites, etc. I have no idea why it would block "shitty" which I have no problem with. I have no problem with "fuck," for that matter.

Parker: Obsolete link
Thanks for letting us know. We'll get it cleaned up.
Meanwhile, you can find "Parker's Policies" in "Parker's Picks."
I have to go pack a peck of pickled peppers now.

Thanks--I shudder to imagine where the responses to your post may lead...

If it makes you feel any better, I had the same problem, but it turned out to be an "xttp://" that appeared below the text. (The first letter is "h," of course, but if I type it, I can't submit the post!!)
Go figure!!

If it makes you feel any better, the same thing happened to me. It turns out that it was the "xttp://" that appears in the Optional Link URL, below. Of course, the first letter is an "h," but if I type it that way, then my post isn't accepted!
Ridiculous!

If it makes you feel any better, the same thing happened to me, and I still don't understand what's going on.

They let you say "box?" Sounds a bit rude!

Bettie: Re: Naughty messages
They're not considered naughty because the message you got has nothing at all to do with the language in the post. Shit Piss Fuck. There, and nothing happened. Naughty language notices occur whenever someone tries to post a link inside a message instead of using the approved "optional link url" field. This prevents spam from getting through most of the time.
Occasionally, someone will encounter a problem who did not try to post a url, and in those cases, some text has somehow embedded itself into one or both of the two small boxes at the bottom of the page (look, you'll find them). That will also trigger a naughty message notice, and they need to be cleared out for the post to go through.
These measures help to prevent spam from getting through; "naughty" language has nothing to do with it.

FYI, in this case, I composed my post entirely within the message box-no tricks, no urls, no links. After it did not go through the first time, I cut out the whole message and started pasting it back in, a sentance at a time until I found "the" error. It just turned out that there were 3 more of them.
