ShoelessD: Bankroll
I guess I am unusual in that I don't add my winnings to my bankroll. Generally I put them toward vacations. Bankroll runs between 2k to 8k.
I use Red7, play red to green, and spread 1-10. Usually play 6 deck shoe games, AC rules. No unusual cover.
Over the past 5 years, I have averaged about 5k per year, with the records and verification to prove it.
I am not a perfect AP, and variance loves dancing with me, but I think I have established that I play with an edge.
Should I begin adding profit to increase bankroll, to play higher stakes? I have always resisted this, for I can handle the swings very well at this limit, but not sure that I can remain as calm at higher limits.
Any opinions?

Each time I raised my unit value I had a short period of anxiety because of the increase in the dollar amount won and lost (due to normal fluctuation). It didn't take long to get use to it but I believe it's only human nature to feel this way. If you are really sesitive to those feelings, I would suggest raising your unit by half of what would be called for by the addtional amount you are adding to your bankroll. Keep it that way until you are comfortable with the new dollar amounts and then raise it the other half. If you still are not confortable, then back off and don't worry about it. Obviously, you are not playing the game to make a living out of it so why put addtional stress on your self. That will only lead to playing less then optimally and may even put you at a disadvantage. If it bothers you to put out your big bet at the new unit size, you could be losing more than you will gain by increasing the unit size. Hope this makes sense.
