Record the number of 10-value cards seen per total cards seen over a long period and see how far this deviates from the expected mean of 4/13.

If you count cards, the shoe showed consistant high counts, there may be cheatings. I came across such short decks at Korea's Sorak Park Casino. The casino used 4 decks then. I and my assistant counted 5 shoes all with RC plus over 20 when cut card came out. I asked checking cards, the dealer took the cards away from table... there was no camera in the casino.

half of the casino in saint-martin are using this method; you count for hours and you always begin whit a running count positive and end whit plus 20 as an example; and every shoe is like that; you do not have to be very intelligent to understand; it is not necessary to see the cards; forsure they will refuse

Back in the 1970's my uncle played in Korea and said that Walker Hill and some of the small private places in Seoul did the same thing.

Question: Did they ever spread the cards?

I doubt Walker Hill would cheat... many CCs won much from there at 70s. Most casinos spreaded cards.

Go when the tables open, if the cards are already in the shoe ready to be played (no player inspection) don't play.

A casino should open the decks at the table with a Floor Supervisor or above and Dealer together verify there are not manufacture defects in the cards. Then fan (spread) the cards out on the layout for a player to inspect before they are shuffled.

If you can't make it to the casino for opening and you thinks somethings up there ways to "force" a set up change. I won?t say them in the open forms. I can email your some of the dirty tricks I know of.

if i own a casino in the caribean like d.r. or in the eastern europe where there is no control or control of the mafia to make more money and to avoid card counter i will quit like 3 aces and 10 or i will put in the decks 3 more 4 and 5 and the trick is done or the combination of both; it is the same for latin america; that is the reason why there is no advantage to play in those countries generally; for sure if you can see the cards it is different; if you suspect something and insist to see the cards may be you will see the door before

My uncle was one of those players. I think someone there finally figured it out because not only did he think the shoe was shorted but when he left he has beaten and robbed in the back parking lot. He recognized one of the persons as someone who worked for the casino but the police took little (if any interest).

The hotel was a Sheraton at that time but I have no idea who ran the casino.
