That post is in Las Vegas Everything, and it was someone on a Travel Channel show on Vegas who made that claim.

    Parker: And . . .

    > That post is in Las Vegas Everything, and it was

The "someone" in the show who made the claim was none other than Bill Zender, former casino manager of the old Aladdin, former gaming agent, author of How To Detect Casino Cheating at Blackjack, etc.

Let's just say that I still have some questions and concerns.

For example, why are there so many detractors who are completely skeptical of card counting?

    >This is contrastinging with your complaint that everybody here is trying to discourage you from becoming pro.

    I wasn't complaining, just...

    >If you're not absolutely convinced that card counting works, you will never become an AP.

Then the outlook does not look very good for me, unforunately.

    >You don't really expect us to post extracts of our bank accounts.

Not without the routing and account numbers to go along with the balance. :-)

    >If we hang around here, it's because we enjoy discussing with like-minded. An AP doesn't get any recognition at the tables other than occasional barrings because he has to hide his talents. Here is a place where he can talk freely. Some pros feel that their activity doesn't contribute anything to the community so they want to make up for this lack by helping others here.

So sharing your "expertise" with other players at the table is an absolute no-no?

And for those players who are more knowledgable and have more playing experience than I do myself, I certainly appreciate the assistance offered here, even if I do not always show it. Thank You. :-)

I hope you will forgive me my lament, but I have lost a lengthy response post, again, because I lost my internet connection.

I was just about to attempt to rewrite it but being a bit exasperated I will not be able to faithfully reproduce it and ask that you please suffice it to say that I read your comments with great interest and gain.

    Thank you Sun Runner.

Due to the possible sensitivity of the question, I want to be accurate and wish to consult the book before I answer. I will get back to you on that later(tomorrow). :-)

I guess the biggest detractor is your uncle but he hasn't really studied the game like many other skeptics. The validity of card counting is a mathematical fact.On this site, everybody believes in it.If we still warn you about taking this path, it's because of your inexistant bankroll and your obvious lack of experience paired with naive expectations.

    > So sharing your "expertise" with other

Of course. If you want to last you have to accept being lectured by ploppies when you just happened to take the dealer's bust card or for "messing up the flow of cards" when spreading to two hands.

I know it's been said before, but if you intend to embark on a long post, it is better to form it up in WORD, or something similiar, and then copy it to the net.

I've had the same thing happen; it's a real drag, I know.

Good luck in figuring out what to do, where to go, and how you'll get there.

Sorry I didn't answer immeditely, but I had read the book a couple of weeks ago and didn't want to have to go back and re-read it in order to find the specific references made to Fred Renzy, Bootlegger, etc.

Unfortunately I just took the book back to the library. Sorry, but if you wish I will go and get it back to get you an answer. :-)
