    8 Deck Shoe Help

    Hey,

I was wondering the best way to play an 8 deck shoe using the zen count. The casino I'm using puts the cutting card about halfway in the shoe (4 decks in), so half of the shoe doesn't even get used. How I plan to play, is to count to about 156 cards in (one deck away from the cutting card), and if there's a nice positive count, to play then. The only thing I'm stuck on is working out the true count, do I divide the running count by 5 (the number of decks left in the entire shoe) or 1 (the number of decks that are actually left to be played). I initially thought that I should just divide by 1, as only around another 52 cards are to be dealt, whereas now I'm thinking I should divide by the number of decks left in the whole shoe as they're a part of the whole jumble of cards.

Which method is correct to work out the true count?

    Thanks,
    Xagan.

To work out the TC correctly you would divide by 5. However I would strongly recommend NOT playing this game. It will be very, very difficult to beat.

They cut 4 decks off around here so a counter will get the message and leave before they have to go to the trouble of backing him off. This penetration is not worth the effort and the casino assumes that counters know this.

    re: normal Card Counting

There is no reason for you to be secretive as to the casino name/location

If this online casino lets you get away with a humongous spread for hour after hour, it could even be playable. But you'd have to count down so many shoes to get a favorable situation that your hourly return might still be pitiful, and it could take you approximately a lifetime to get into the long run. And you'd have to be absolutely confident in the honesty of the casino, in all aspects of its business.

Always divide by the number of unseen decks. It doesn't matter if those unseen cards are behind the cut card, in front of the cut card, or were dealt before you arrived at the game so you never saw them, and are now in the discards. Since you're sitting at home, feel free to use a calculator to determine the true count accurately. Wong out of unfavorable shoes aggressively, if you can jump right into a fresh shoe. Play indexes are going to be all but worthless for this game.

I worry more for cheating than playing for little profits. If the game can be play for fun and little profit ,so be it ,unless i have other priority.

Oh sh*t, if you can spread to anything you want w/o heat and wong out anytime, it would be a very playable game. But as you mentioned, that's assuming all other aspects of the game is legit.

    Hi all guys

I am brand new to the forum and I’ve been practicing on counting cards for the last few months.

I’ve read everything you wrote about these online casinos and I have to tell you that they are not cheaters as some of the biggest online sportsbooks such as williamhill or sportingbet are offering the “live dealers”.

You can back counting and jump into the game the right time. You can spread as much as you want and they are always perfect and professionals with their payment methods.

My problem, as a brand new counter, is how beatable a game with 8 decks and 50% penetration is.

In my country the live casinos use shuffle machines after every hand so the online “live dealers” seem like oasis.

I have a plenty of time to stick on that, but is it beatable and how should I play under these circumstances?

Thanks a lot and sorry about my English.

If what you say is true, only play when you have a nice advantage and flat bet or use a small spread. You should beat the game easily if it is honest. These are the key issues: are you presenting accurate info and is the game honest.

8 Decks with 50% pen? Very, very hard to beat, not worth your time. Even if it can be beaten with an ENORMOUS spread, the variance will be horrible, with long losing streaks.
