Coug Fan: Why don't casino's offer this rule

I have always been curious about why no casinos offer insurance/even-money when the dealer is showing a ten. I have seen numerous ploppies who got upset because they were not able to take even money when the dealer ended up having a ten-up BJ. I don't see any down side other than slowing down the game, but casinos generally seem fine with slowing the game down for an added edge based on numerous stupid side bets, paranoid penetration levels, etc.

Does anyone know if this has ever been offered, and/or why it is not done today?

If I ran a casino, I would pay 100 to 1 on insurance, but only offer insurance when the dealer had a 2-9 showing.

Coug Fan, I always thought that casinos never underestimate the stupidity of their customers but you are the champ.

At 100-1, I bet you would get more takers than you think.

Thats why I love this group. Always able to find answers to obscure questions. BTW, based on my personal experience, your last sentence would include almost all casinos .

many smart casinos such as Austria Gaming which offer CSMs and allow insurances up to your bet. Many very very very stupid players insure.
