RICO: ANYBODY HEARD
IS THERE A CURRENT LAWSUIT GOING ON WITH HOLE CARD KNOWLEDGE?
-
Parker: Depends
If you mean a case regarding the legality of hole card play, no. Hole carding has long been ruled by courts in Nevada and elsewhere to be perfectly legal, providing no device is used and the hole card is visible to player(s) at the table.
There is, however, a current case concerning a couple of hole-carders who were illegally detained by a casino, and subsequently arrested.
BTW, please do not post in all caps. It is the online equivalent of shouting, and is considered rude.

RICO: Hole Card Lawsuit
This ongoing lawsuit wouldn't happen to be with possibly Ray Cagno and Grosjean would it? Can you provide any specifics such as where and when was it filed. What are the legal findings if any thus far and how far back does this date to?

Didn't the good guys win this last week?

There are a number of different lawsuits. The Cagno and Grosjean lawsuits are unrelated; Cagno's is against the El Cortez, Grosjean has a couple of suits in progress. These can be researched at the Clark County website and/or the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Las Vegas Sun websites.
Grosjean and fellow plaintiff Michael Russo won a major victory last Friday night when a jury found in their favor in their suit against Caesars Palace and Griffin Detective agency, awarding $100,000 in damages. This does not include punitive damages, which will be determined at a future date.
Blackjack legend Johnny C attended the trial and was kind enough to stop by our Don's Domain chatroom last night and discuss it, among other topics.
Another legend, Ralph "Silver Fox" Stricker, also dropped in on the chat.
More good reasons for belonging to Don's Domain.

Yep. If you'd been at last night's Don's Domain chat you'd know all about it. :-)

The solution seems quite obvious to me. :-)

RICO: who is involved
Parker...
If you don't mind but who is currently involved in the current Hole Card Lawsuit. When is the date of this current lawsuit. I am curious as far as names and which hotel/casino and when did this alleged incident take place? I can't find any links on the Las Vegas Sun nor Clark County as per what you claimed would have information. Any information you can provide would be of interest for me to read. Thank you kindly.

Just use the papers search engines and use Grosjean and Russo for keywords. I quickly found 6 articles in the LV Sun, one of which I have linked to below.
Note that the case is not about hole-carding. All parties agree that hole-carding is legal. Grosjean and Russo were arrested and accused of card bending, which is illegal. These charges were later dropped, and they subsequently filed a civil suit against Caesars Palace for illegal detention, and against Griffin Detective Agency for having them listed as cheaters. Last Friday a jury sided with Grosjean and Russo on all counts.
I haven't seen anything in the media regarding this most recent development. I assume that they are waiting until this coming Friday, when punitive damages will be decided.
