Which is it? I thought you said they had no good pen, playable games in Vegas?

Again, opinion varies and my opinion clearly states that personally, I KNOW, that if you scout around there are many playable DD games IN VEGAS with better pen than one deck cutoff.

Do let me say something here, though. Depending on the limits you play, those games do vary.

I don't play black perhaps others in that category can give you their opinions of those games.

Even though I don't play black, I feel that you could still find many games beyond 50% because the high-rollers get discouraged with shuffling all the time and the pit wants to keep their big boys happy. Just my two-cents.

Good cards to you...and good luck with the ladies.

Jay: Re: Vegas and DD Games

I liked maybe 1 or 2 places downtown for DD. At one I got about 65% pen. That was decent. Female dealer usually. I did well with it.

At the Venetian, they sometimes deal a bit more than 50% pen on their green chip minimum DD. Some local casinos sometimes deal more than 50% pen. I would usually wong those right after the 50% pen mark. I did ok. Also when I state my result, its more of what happen eventually. So when I say, I did OK.. It means that I won.. then lost.. and back and forth. Thats cardcounting in todays casino.. A method thats far from a guarantee of profits.. short and medium term. I heard Max Rubin once say this "When it comes to longer term, it means your results over a lifetime of blackjack play.. In other words cardcounting should and will produce a profit over a lifetime of play" Which means, after years, and decades of play.. your favored to come out with a profit. Today, my casino game of choice is craps.. due to the control I feel I have over my outcome. I believe craps is probably Stanford Wong's casino game of choice as well.

Good Cards to you too man. Get that money! ;-)

    > Absolutely right, mathematically I get no edge.

Sorry, but that's the only kind of edge there is. Anything else is just a combination of wishful thinking, selective memory, and positive variation. Some might call it "luck."

Keep playing, and eventually you will lose your bankroll.

    > I believe you can get an edge by playing in a relaxed,

No amount of mental focus will turn a negative expectation game into a positive one, any more that it will allow you to defy gravity. You are, of course, free to believe whatever you like.

But don't jump off any tall buildings.

    > Which casinos just

In Nevada they can bar you for any reason they wish. Or no reason at all. But of course, as a "full time pro" you already knew that.

    > When I played in Reno, I got stares.. The pit watched

Playing a winning game gets you backed off, especially in Reno. Whether you are actually winning or losing has nothing to do with it. Most of my own back-offs have come while I was losing. But of course, as a "full time pro," you already . . .

    If you say so.

He could read bogus quotes from amazon or real ones from real people. I just figured real ones would be more meaningful.

I didn't write those quotes; I just collected them.

Some people involved with certain areas vociferously complain when anyone speaks about ?their? area since it gives info to the casinos. Then they publish a book releasing the same info. When challenged, they claim they left out the valuable stuff so it didn?t really matter. Then when someone else publishes a book on the same subject; they criticize it for its inaccuracies and omissions.

    Welcome to the AP world.

Sun Runner: Just to be clear ..

Could not have said it better.

    > Some might call it "luck."

    Not me!

To be clear, I believe in 'luck.' But I don't rely on the good luck and I pray the bad luck does not toss me out of the game.

    > No amount of mental focus will turn a negative
    > expectation game into a positive one, any more that it

    Preach it Parker.

But I have seen many a dead-butt with a dismal, depressed, poor me attitude turn good opportunities into bad ones. All because they were bitching and moaning so much it passed them by.

Exceptional preperation, exceptional execution, and a great attitude are a recipe for success.

Poor preperation, worse execution, and a great attitude are a recipe for certain failure.
