    MJ: Casino Verite Question

I am currently using the Demo version of CV and am trying out the drills. I simply want to practice Basic Strategy but am experiencing some problems. How do I set it up so I am ONLY tested on BS plays and not on any indice plays? For some reason the count is always displayed and I cannot figure out how to get rid of it.

Also one time I tried to test multiple card hand BS and I had a 4 card total of 16 vs either an Ace or 10(can't quite recall which one) and I pressed Hit but it told me to stand!! I am confused.

The current strategy I am using is Complete BS set for DAS and multiple deck. One other thing I was wondering is whether or not the length of a test can be based upon time rather then the number of rounds. For example, I would like to test how many rounds I can complete in 20 seconds, rather then how many seconds it would take to accumulate 20 rounds.

Thanks in advance for any help on this one.

If you are using Complete BS, then you are being tested for Basic Strategy. Set the count optoin to zero to get rid of counts. But, the BS play for a three or more card 16 vs. 10 is stand. This is the only compostion dependant exception included in the CVBJ Complete BS. The Count Down option will allow you to define a time period instead of a number of rounds.

Thanks for the response Norm. Is it possible to edit the Complete BS to make it so that the play for 16 vs 10 is always "Hit" and not composition dependant? I tried the Define/Edit option but can't seem to pull up any of the Strategies that come with the program. Can a strategy included with CV be edited or do you have to create it on your own?

Also as far as the count down is concerned, ideally I would like the test to end after 20 seconds elapses; just as it does when 20 rounds elapses. Instead, the timer turns Red after 20 seconds and I hear a beep and the test continues until 20 rounds have been completed. Can it be set up so after 20 seconds the test ends and the program indicates how many rounds were completed?

    Thanks again Norm.

Note that I have not done this, but I believe the solution is to define your own strategy. Base it on complete BS, but then you should be able to tweak any particular strategy decision you want. I've done this in CVCX, so I suspect it works the same way...

Yes create your own strategy based on the Complete BS strategy. Then you only have to make the one change.

Probably not. I'll put it on the list.

Sorry yes. The full version keeps this kind of info in an Access database. The lite version has no datatbase.
