jay willis: binions single deck game
Can the Single deck game over at Binions Horshoe and Vegas and the single deck game at the El cortez in Vegas be beat. They are two casinos that deal a real single deck. I played at Binions for thousands of hours and never lost a dime or made a dime and eventually and they made me and either started shuffling the deck when I had a big bet and kicked me out. That was two years ago. After showing the show on the history channel I have renewed interest. 1 or2 people at a table they will deal 4 or 5 rounds I forget. 3 people they will deal 3 or 4 rounds. A full table they only deal 2 rounds I think. When the count gets to +3 I can get away with a 15 to 1 spread when the casino is relatively crowded. Thanks. Can someone post here or email me at [email protected]

Um, have you been out of the country the last six months? The Horseshoe was closed back in January due to numerous ongoing financial problems.
The 'Shoe reopened in April under new ownership and Harrah's management. The only single deck you will find there now is the unplayable ripoff version with the shorted (6:5) BJ payoff. In a nutshell, the Horseshoe we all love and remember is no more - Harrah's has destroyed it.
For all the gory details on the Binion's debacle, do a search on our Las Vegas Everything page using "Binion's" or "Horseshoe" as search keywords and concentrating on January and April of this year.
As an aside, I'd like to point out that all of our forums are fully searchable using the search link found at the top of all index pages. Since all forums go back two years or more, there is a wealth of information to be found here.

SOTSOG: Re: binions single deck game
Becky Binion drove the Horseshoe into the ground, and it was bought by Harrahs. There is no more Binion's and there is no more single deck at the Horseshoe. Harrahs will be selling the casino later this year to a company that runs a huge slot machine operation in West Virgina, so who knows what that will bring.
The El Cortez is still there, dealing deep into their single deck game, but they will sweat any action over $25.
Might check out the Golden Nugget across the street from the old Shoe, they have some higher stake single deck tables now.
