Gunter: alias
How does one go about obtaining a legal alias?

Depends on where you are. Laws vary considerably from one state to another, and of course even more so from one country to another.

For obvious reasons this really is not an appropriate topic for an open forum.

Where is the danger of speaking about LEGAL alias' on an open forum?

No "danger," per se, other than that the thread might drift away from "legal."
But, legal or otherwise, why educate the other side?

Parker...We educate the "other side" everyday with our posts....don't we?

Of course, up to a point. There are those who believe that sites such as this one are a contributing factor in the decline in the quality of games in Las Vegas and elsewhere. Indeed, there may be some validity to that.
I would hope that it would work both ways, and perhaps some casino management types reading these pages might realize that making any money counting cards is damned difficult, and most casinos grossly overestimate the "threat" posed by counters. Casinos back off players who are not playing a winning game, and they decimate their hold by reducing penetration.
Still, we do make an effort not to give away too much. We talk in general terms, rather than specific games at specific casinos, and there are a few topics we shy away from.

Rob McGarvey: Canada
you can use an alias as long as you are not doing anything illegal. You may not get a bank account for that alias, or any legal ID, but you can use it. Producing government documents is illegal, so any ID you get made up should be done so very carefully. You can make up your own country like Kajackistan and make yourself king of it! laugh

If interested, I have some info on getting a passport from a country here in the U.S. (not kidding). Won't post any info here.

They are only illegal when they cross the border into your country. ;> Toronto is having a gun problem right now. Certain individuals are killing certain individuals, if you know what I mean. But most of the country is bowling for columbine. We'd rather drinks beers withya eh, then to waste good moose killin' bullets on ya. Basically too laid back to get mad enough to kill anything cept maybe a 40 pounder with a friend or three.
