Marc: Mentor System
I have a question about the Mentor system in Blackjack Bluebook II(especially if Fred Renzey is monitoring this forum). The true count in Mentor is per 2 decks (eg. running count is 8, 4 decks remain, true count is 4).
I would rather do the true count by single deck (I am used to it). Is there an index table for the single deck true count? I could divide the values in the book by 2, but what would I do with an odd index?
Thanks.

The main thing I like about truing up at two remaining decks is that in the shoe game, your running count is nearly equal to the true count as you come down to "crunch time" (the shuffle).

Fred,
Thanks for your response and for a great book.
How about truing negative numbers to one deck. For example, for double down 9 vs. dealer 4 the index is -9. Should I make it -4 or -5?
BTW, one problem with truing to 2 decks is Casino Verite does not support it
