    for the 8 decks i agree whit those who give their opinion; it can be beatable but it is not worth the number of hours of work necessary if you are a professionnal

    It is necessary to look at the entire picture - not just the number of decks.

    An 8 deck game with good rules (S17, DOA, DAS, LS), deep penetration (less than one deck cut off), and conditions favorable to wonging (multiple pits, lots of uncrowded tables) might present a good opportunity for anyone, recreational player and pro alike.

    OTOH, an 8 deck game with H17, 2.5 decks cut off, and crowded table conditions is probably a waste of time for anyone serious about the game.
